Hong Kong Wetland Park celebrates World Wetlands Day 2017

 

Over 150 secondary school students participated in the inter-school bird race

To echo with the theme“Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction”, Hong Kong Wetland Park (HKWP) organised a series of fun-filled activities to celebrate World Wetlands Day (WWD) 2017. The activities included the winter signature event Bird Watching Festival “Secrets in the World of Birds”, public lectures, workshops, bird watching guided tours, bird race and thematic exhibition.

 The Bird Watching Festival “Secrets in the World of Birds” introduced to visitors the various interesting adaptive features and behaviours of birds. In the art workshops, children committed to conserve and use wetlands wisely through making their unique WWD badges. Moreover, over 150 secondary school students joined the inter-school bird race to promote bird-watching activities among schools and raise the awareness towards the conservation of birds and the environment.
