Recently the Head of WLI accompanied WWT Consulting to work with colleauges in Algeria who are keen to set up a new wetland visitor centre on the eastern coast the country, at the Guerbes-Sanhadja wetland complex. Currently there is a dis-used forestry building on site, which could be converted into a visitor centre.

The WWT team visited the site, did an audit of the centre, and talked with local people and the local administration to get ideas for what is needed, and how the centre could be converted.

A report will be produced shortly, and the Forestry Department staff hope to launch the new centre on World Wetlands Day 2013.
