Chris Rostron opening address, the Head of WLI promoted the importance of wetland centres and their work, and of the WLI network to support and improve what they do.
Dr Lew Young, key note speech, on the role of the Ramsar convention and getting the message of the importance of wetlands out
Professor Cui, Lijian, Institute of Wetland Research, on wetland restoration activities in P.R. China
Angelita Meniado discussed Marine Protected Areas as a mechanism for wetland protection
Spike Millington talked about international cooperation through the EAAFP for migratory bird protection
Mohamad Azlin Sani told us about what Sungie Buloh had been doing in terms of internationa wetland centre cooperation
Elena Smirenski, Muraviovka Park, stressed the importance of working together to deliver wetland and bird conservation outcomes
Chen Kelin, Wetlands International, presented the situation of wetland conservaton in China
Fion Cheung, WWF Hong Kong, talked about WWF’s South China programme, its challenges and achievements in engaging local people
Eric Wong, Hong Kong Wetland Park, showed the habitat creation and managemenet work at their site
Nelson Chen, Guandu Nature Park, presented an overview of the park’s activities
Zirong Li, Chongming Dongtan National Nature Reserve, talked about the development of a wetland education system at their wetland site
Nicole Wong, WWF Hong Kong updated on the evaluation of the effectiveness of their CEPA work
Minoru Kashiwagi, Ramsar Network Japan covered citizen science activities in Japan, particularly in relation to waterbird census
Yuna Choi, EAAFP talked about their CEPA programmes and World Wetland Day 2013 activities
Suh, Seung Oh, Regional Ramsar Center-Eeast Asia presented the CEPA strategy for the Regional Ramsar Centre
Doug Watkins, Wetlands International, talked about developoing a wetland centre on the Luannan Coast, China
Tatsuya Shibahara, Yatsu Higata Center showed the development of a wetland reservce in a highly urban area
Sonny Wong, MNS, discussed the imlementation of flyway initiatives at a site level in Malaysia
Najam Ul Huda Khan talked about the results of the Pakistan Wetlands Project
