Hong Kong Wetland Park celebrates World Wetlands Day 2016

Hong Kong Wetland Park held a ceremony on January 30 to celebrate World Wetlands Day 2016.

Officiating at the celebration ceremony, the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, Dr Leung Siu-fai, said, “Hong Kong Wetland Park is committed to fulfilling its mission of promoting wetland conservation. Over the last decade, it has enabled more than 5 million local and overseas visitors to learn about the biodiversity and significance of wetlands through a range of educational programmes and activities that seek to promote conservation and ecotourism.”

Competition” performed their skits on wetland conservation, winning thunderous applause from the audience. The Park also presented souvenirs to express our gratitude to supporting and partner organisations of the Park’s various activities, and dedicated volunteers who served the Park for more than 50 hours in the past year. At the end, the volunteers dedicated “The Hong Kong Wetland Park Song” in a chorus to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Park, bringing the atmosphere of the ceremony to a climax.
