World Wetlands Day

As in previous years, the Office for Social and Economic Promotion of the Environment of the Region of Murcia, through the visitor centre ‘Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park’, joined the celebration of World Wetlands Day . Through various activities, aimed at both boys and girls in schools and the general public, about 600 people came to this protected natural area to discover the importance of wetlands have for all of us. It is recalled, among the most relevant services of these ecosystems of great biodiversity, wetlands are regulators of the water cycle and climate, generating water resources to supply fresh water and constituents use zones for human activities of great importance economy such as tourism and fishing.
