The tenth annual meeting of Migratory Birds for People meeting has been held at WWT’s Slimbridge Wetland Centre in England.

This year 16 representatives from 11 wetland centres and organisations gathered together, from far north as St. Petersburg, Russia, and as far south as Dakar, Senegal.

WWT senior staff, centre-managers, and educators all took the opportunity to engage with their colleagues from other parts of the East Atlantic Flyway. External guests also joined in to discuss the forthcoming Flight of the Osprey, and wetland bird picture books

We marked the ten years of cooperation—not just with the essential cake—but also by unveiling the large fabric map for centres to use as an educational resource. The group workshopped a guidelines book of games and approaches to using the map; we will develop these and share them in the coming months.

Thank you to all the partners for attending this meeting to share and exchange their experiences and perspectives, taking stock of the progress of the past year and plan next year’s actions. We will release meeting proceedings later in 2019.
