Wetland city accreditation is a scheme by which cities and towns with Ramsar sites or other important wetlands can be recognised for their good work in conserving them and promoting wetlands to their local populations. The first round saw 18 cities accredited, and the deadline for the next round is at the end of the year.

WWT’s International Engagement Manager, Chris Rostron, attended the meeting of the independent advisory committee hosted at the Ramsar Regional Centre East Asia, South Korea, to review the process and make recommendations for the next round – we hope to see some more enthusiastic cities applying! See the Ramsar webpage for more information.
