The Ramsar Convention has set the themes for the next three years of World Wetlands Day:

2022 Wetlands action for people and nature

2023 Wetland restoration

2024 Wetlands and human wellbeing

The day will continue to be celebrated on 2nd February.

Every year the Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention provides useful materials relating to the theme: official posters, banners, and social media content. The official website also shares a directory of events, and news stories relating to the theme.

The Convention's Standing Committee met in the last week of June 2021, which is when they set these themes. The Head of WLI, Chris Rostron, was present virtually at the Standing Committee. The Committee also proposed dates for the delayed Ramsar COP14: while yet to be confirmed, it may happen in late 2022.
