For three days in June/July the Wadden Sea Visitor Centre Nationalpark-Haus Husum hosted the “Sounding Wild Immersive Experience” presented by Axel and Ario Drioli. More than 100 visitors took a dive and immersed into the Virtual Reality impressions, videos, pictures and wildlife sounds previously recorded in the Wadden Sea.

The Sounding Wild Immersive Experience is part of the one-and-a-half-year “Wings Across Continents” expedition that takes Axel and Ario along the East Atlantic flyway, sharing local wildlife stories with the local communities.

After stops at, among others, the MBP network partners Urdaibai Bird Centre in Spain, Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and EVOA Bird Observatory in Portugal, Axel and Ario headed for the Wadden Sea in late May. Here, they spent about 4 weeks in the Schleswig-Holstein and Danish Wadden Sea Region, met local bird experts and - supported among others by the local NGO Schutzstation Wattenmeer - embarked on numerous trips to capture photos, videos, and sounds of the current bird life.

Both the visual and acoustic recordings were then framed into a story, becoming a multi-language VR-experience with unique sound technology. The experience was presented to visitors and staff-members of the Nationalpark-Haus.
