Urdaibai Bird Center Volunteer Program, summer 2024
From June to September, 25 volunteers participated in the Urdaibai Bird Center's annual volunteer program.
The program is aimed at training people in areas related to the environment such as research, dissemination, land management, and environmental education.
It gives volunteers practical experience of everyday activities in the Urdaibai Bird Center. They record daily bird sightings, take part in bird ringing sessions,and help out with visitor experience and any land management activities.
Most of our volunteers spend a month with us and live on site. We provide accomodation and this creates a special connection between the groups. All volunteers are nature lovers and spending time in Urdaibai gives them the opportunity to explore the area and get to know the wildife together.
The environmental volunteer program at the Urdaibai Bird Center is an excellent way to contribute to conservation and learn more about nature.
