We are sharing this opportunity from Eversheds Sutherland, which supports the WLI Small Grants. Please note this competition is open to applications from Jordan, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom only.

Deadline 2 May!

Win Prizes and Promote Environmental Stewardship!

In celebration of World Wetlands Day, Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm, has partnered with WWT to  launch an exciting, curriculum-linked art competition for primary school children.

Since 2017, Eversheds Sutherland has proudly supported WWT in their mission to preserve wetlands for both future generations and wildlife. We champion wetlands 365 days a year, but on 2 February, the world unites to celebrate these extraordinary habitats. We invite you and your class to join us by designing your very own Wildly Wonderful Wetland Animal!

Why celebrate wetlands?

Wetlands are nature’s super heroes! They are flood-busting, nature-boosting, carbon-sinking and mood-lifting habitats. Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands and inspire creativity and environmental stewardship among young people.

Competition overview

Primary school aged children aged 4 - 11 are invited to design their very own wildly wonderful wetland animal. This creature should embody the unique qualities and importance of wetlands, showcasing the beauty and diversity of these vital ecosystems.

They can draw, paint, write a poem, make a collage or tell us a story about their wildly wonderful wetland animal.

Participants can enter either as an individual, or as an entire class. Why not share the attached poster on your online learning portal as homework?

Alternatively, enter as a class to be in with a chance of winning even bigger prizes! This competition aligns with the curriculum’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, making it an ideal classroom activity.
