Nyandungu Eco-Park: Star Wetland Centre 2024

Nyandungu wetland was degraded, leading to biodiversity loss, downstream flooding, and increased pollution. In 2016, the Government of Rwanda, through the Rwanda Environment Management Authority developed the Nyandungu restoration project to respond to these challenges and demonstrate the potential of wetlands to decrease pollution and reduce the risk of flooding in urban areas.
