Liceo Taller San Miguel, Humedale DANAPURE

The DANAPURE Wetland, despite not having a very significant extension of land (1,450 m, without taking into account the areas of streams, forests and guaduales, which have not yet been quantified) is of great importance because it has become a living laboratory for the investigation of botany and biology, where nature itself in every inch of land and water became an open book to facilitate their study.
To analyse its different forms of life in the laboratory and with astonishment to find that there are tardigrades, to see that the population of vertebrates and invertebrates such as butterflies of which we are about to publish a book entitled WINGS, which contains about 100 photographs with their taxonomic determinations, illustrated with drawings not only by our children, but also by a group of fishermen's children, We are also working with a group of children of native fishermen from the Gulf of Morrosquillo in the Caribbean Sea, with whom we share our project, SWEET WETLANDS, SALTWATER WETLANDS, carrying out research between these ecosystems and endorsed by the Colombian Commission of the Oceans of the National Navy, has led us to create a bond of friendship of great importance for the inclusion between children from the sea and the mountains.
For the month of April, we have the initiation of the DANAPURE BOTANICAL GARDEN project which includes the study and reforestation of its surrounding areas with water protective species.
