Celebrating 2025’s Latin America Star Wetland Centres
A recognition for two Latin American projects that inspire us to keep working for wetland conservation 💚.
Within the framework of the @conventiononwetlands COP15, @wwtworldwide highlighted two outstanding initiatives worldwide through its Wetland Star Awards.
🇪🇨 From Ecuador, the Observatorio de Santay (@observatoriodesantay) received two Wetland Star Awards, in the categories of “People”, for the commitment of its community, and “Facilities”, for providing an educational, accessible, and inspiring space that connects people with the Santay Wetland.
🇨🇱 From Chile, Fundación Kennedy was recognized with the Wetland Star Award for “Biodiversity”, highlighting its work in the conservation and protection of the Aguada La Chimba Urban Wetland in Antofagasta.
This recognition reminds us that conservation is built in a network, through collaboration, commitment, and a deep love and connection with our territories 💧🌱
