WLI Small Grants Gathering: Inspiring Wetland Stories

On 3 March, we hosted the First WLI Small Grants Gathering!

On Tuesday, 3 March, the WLI Small Grants Gathering brought together awardees to share their projects, experiences, and insights. The online event, lasted 2 hours and highlighted the creativity, innovation, and impact of CEPA wetland initiatives across our network.

The seven small grant recipients brought their projects to life through creative presentations, using visuals, short videos, and spoken word. Each presentation showcased the inspiration behind the work, the specific wetlands or species they support, the challenges they face, and the types of support that would strengthen their efforts, from technical guidance to networking, visibility, skills, and funding opportunities.

Although we would have welcomed more time for discussion, key information on reporting, communications, and next steps was shared. Importantly, the event also connected awardees with one another, creating a space for future exchange, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices across the WLI community.

The WLI team was thrilled to connect with these inspiring small grant recipients and celebrate the incredible work happening in wetland conservation.
