An update from the team at WWT that coordinates WLI, on another area of their work, the Wetland Learning Hub.

We are delighted to announce that the global course “Wetland Ecosystems – Conservation and Sustainable Management” will begin on 18th May 2026. This online, self-paced course is designed for anyone seeking internationally recognised skills in wetland conservation and management. The course combines expert knowledge from international wetland specialists with practical case studies from around the world.

Participants will explore different wetland types, their ecological functions and importance for both biodiversity and human communities, strategies for conservation and monitoring, and approaches to stakeholder engagement and awareness. The course features live seminars, interactive activities, collaborative workspaces and the opportunity to join the Wetland Learning Hub alumni community. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and develop skills aligned with the Convention on Wetlands' global wetland conservation objectives.
