Host Save the Waves film festival
Coastal conservation collective Save the Waves has a touring film festival which WLI members in coastal areas may be interested in hosting, especially if surfing is popular nearby. They ask for a minimum donation of USD 350.
The organisers say it features inspiring nonfiction and documentary films on surf and water sports, travel and adventure, conservation and climate.
They outline the process:
Hosting a Save The Waves Film Festival for your community can be as small or large as you want!
Not every film festival needs to be in a theater: some of our best and most memorable turnouts have been in local surf shops.
Step 1: Submit request form below to receive the "Film Fest In A Box" and our film program.
Step 2: Find your venue and select any date between June 15th and October 31st, 2026.
Step 3: Receive our Canva package of pre-made materials to promote your event.
Step 4: Movie night! Enjoy your Save The Waves Film Festival and raise funds for coastal conservation.
Please note: A minimum donation of $350 USD to Save The Waves is required to host a Film Festival stop.
