Description of the centre

Characteristic biotopes that are supported are: Riverine vegetation, Tamarisks, Wet meadows with Juncus,Submerged vegetation of salt or brackish waters, Lagoon and fresh water vegetation, Halophytic vegetation, Vegetation of sandy islets

Size of site:

Evros Delta has a size of 20000 Hectares, of which 9500 are protected.

Species that are supported are:

Birds (320 species): wintering birds (ducks, geese, raptors, waders, etc.), migrating birds (waders, passerines, etc.), breeding birds (water birds, waders, gulls, etc.)
Mammals (40 species), fish (46 species), reptiles (21 species), amphibians (7 species).

The Evros Delta Visitor Centre has an exhibition room with photos and information about the wetland.
