Overall aims of the centre
Through information and positive experiences we want to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of nature and biodiversity and wetlands in particular.
Description of the centre
At the beach Orrestranden lies the information centre Friluftshuset på Orre. This is a stop along the Norwegian Scenic Route Jæren. The centre includes information about the Jæren beaches as a nature reserve and bird and plant-protected Ramsar areas nearby. The exhibition informs about the important role this landscape has in terms of wildlife and nature reservation. Friluftshuset Orre is one of three visitor centres about the wetlands of international importance, the Ramsar convention.

BVJ aims to raise local and regional awareness about the importance of nature and wetlands in general through education, family-oriented activities and through social media.
