Go Green Community Hub is a Centre established by Go Green Save the Environment (GGSE) to promote environmental conservation and equip communities with practical green skills, including briquette production, eco-block making, and tumbler making, while supporting sustainable livelihoods. The Hub provides training, environmental education, and opportunities for community members, especially youth and women, to learn, innovate, and work together to build a greener, more sustainable future.

What types of work are you doing around communication, education, participation and awareness-raising?
GGSE promotes communication, education, participation, and awareness through environmental education, community outreach, awareness campaigns, social media, tree planting, clean-up activities, recycling, and practical green skills training. Through the Go Green Community Hub, we empower youth and communities to actively protect the environment and adopt sustainable livelihoods.
Top three successes
1. Tree Planting and Forest Restoration
Successfully mobilized communities, schools, and volunteers to plant thousands of trees, helping restore degraded areas and increase environmental awareness.
2. Waste Management and Recycling
Established community clean-up campaigns and recycling initiatives, including eco-block and briquette production, reducing waste while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
3. Community Environmental Education
Conducted environmental awareness and skills training for youth, women, and local communities, increasing participation in conservation activities and encouraging sustainable environmental practices.
Top three challenges
1. Lack of funding
Some activities were delayed or carried out on a small scale because of limited financial support. This shows the importance of having reliable funding and strong partnerships.
2. Transport and equipment
We faced challenges when collecting waste from lodges etc. We always hire transport and carry out activities due to lack of transport and proper equipment. Good planning and investment in resources can improve project implementation.
3. Low community participation at the beginning
Some people were slow to join our activities. We learnt that regular community sensitisation and working closely with local leaders helps to increase participation and ownership.
