Main CEPA work areas
The Kalissaye Ornithological Reserve has a long tradition of communication communication and awareness.
In the field of the
communication, it regularly relies on the services of local radio and television stations. It often uses traditional communicators and partners (Management Committee, Eco-Guards EIG, Association of Friends of the ROK, Women’s Group, students) to convey messages related to environmental awareness and education.
Top three successes
The protection of the reproduction of royal and Caspian terns.
– Reforestation of degraded areas.
– Remediation of breeding and wintering areas for Western Palearctic migratory birds. This activity is carried out jointly with the communities, in particular the ROK management bodies, the educational community (pupils, parents, teachers), etc.
– Monitoring of marine turtles and humpback dolphins
Top three challenges
The construction of an eco-tourism camp. The reasons are related to the lack of financial resources to cover the costs of purchasing equipment and labour.
– Monitoring of reforested plots. This is due to the lack of resources to rent motorized boats.
