Overall aims of the centre
Provide guidance on the conservation and restoration of wetlands and forests in the Imiría Regional Conservation Area.
Description of the centre
The multi-purpose control post of the Imiría Regional Conservation Area ACR Imiría is located within the territory of the Shipiba community of Junín Pablo. It has an administrative office, meeting room and shelter for staff and visitors. This infrastructure is located in a non-floodplain ecosystem on the banks of the Imiría lagoon.
This place is the centre of operations of the ACR Imiría, where coordination, meetings and capacity building events are held, with the participation of park rangers, visitors, resource users, representatives of sectoral institutions, community members, students and university professors and other stakeholders.
Among the species found in this lagoon are the river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), red bufeo (Inia geoffrensis), grey bufeo (Sotalia fluviatilis), manatee (Trichechus inunguis), gamitana (Colossoma macropomum), paiche (Arapaima gigas), neotropical cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus), among other species

Inter-institutional and community coordination meetings. Induction sessions for visitors. Orientation talks for birdwatcher fishermen and boat motorists.
Training events on commercial fishing management, intercultural environmental education tools, ecosystem restoration, innovation of artisanal products, among other topics within the framework of the Imiría RCA master plan and the life plans of the communities.
Top three successes
Elaboration of the master plan, the biodiversity fairs and the aguatic management plan. Attention was given to the socio-ecological challenges, articulation with the priorities of the users, and the inclusion of generations and gender.
Top three challenges
Need to identify capacities in all stakeholder groups, especially in the less representative or favoured groups at the community level, allowing for diversity and inclusion in all stages of the management processes.
