Connecting wetland centres across the world

Nepal birding session

The WLI network currently has over 300 members delivering wetland education activities across the globe. Our membership is WLI’s best resource, holding expertise and experience in how to communicate wetland conservaiton messages to local communities, government and business sectors.

Joining the network is free and not only gives you access to other partners doing similar work to you, it also provides resources to support your work, provides regular updates and newsletters, and runs campaigns throughout the year to co-ordinate wetland conservation messages.

WLI also expects you to play your part. Being a member means that you:

  • Complete a detailed profile of your work, to be uploaded onto the website.
  • Provide details of your activities and skills / expertise, for sharing with other members.
  • Respond to queries from fellow members of the network.
  • Feedback to the WLI network on specific information requests.
  • Promote specific wetland messages through your work.

It’s free to join, simply download the membership form and the WLI member agreement, and return to the WLI co-ordinator, with up to 5 digital pictures of your work if you have them. We may occasionally share your information with our carefully selected partners, including the Ramsar Convention, for collaboration and the sharing of learning. We are committed to keeping your personal information secure and we will never share it with other organisations for marketing purposes. You can read our full Privacy policy, which will be available soon. We look forward to hearing from you!

WLI has run an internship since 2017, at WWT head office in Slimbridge Wetland Centre, UK. In 2020, the WWT is re-naming the scheme as the International Engagement internship. The role still includes a lot of WLI support, and we welcome candidates from within WLI and beyond. The closing date in 17 April 2020. Find out more and apply.

The WLI network is endorsed by the Ramsar Convention on wetlands and coordinated by WWT.
