WLI Asia update, September 2012

Colleagues from Mai Po, Hong Kong Wetland Park, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, KFEM South Korea and WLI global met to discuss the next steps for the WLI Asia network.  Plans are now developing for a WLI Asia meeting in Suncheon in April 2013, South Korea, and Mr Zi, Tzan-hyuk is working closely with Suncheon City, home of a new wetland centre, where it is planned to be hosted.  The event will form part of their Garden Expo, which will take place in 2013.  We also discussed the visists between centres in Hong Kong, Suncheon and Sungei Buloh, and even one to the London Wetland Centre, UK.  Sungei Buloh is also getting its two wetland centre ready to open, both next year.  WWF Hong Kong are working with Chinese colleauges to prepare a guide for wetland centres and interpretation, which will offer help in designing the content of education centres.  WLI members have been very active in the region!  For more, see the WLI Asia meet notes.
