Volunteering Opportunity for Birds and People, Russia
NGO ‘Birds& People’ is inviting volunteers to participate in ecological school ‘Wetland keepers’ which will be held on 1-7 August 2014, in the village Bentsy of Zapadnodvinskiy district of Tverkaya oblast, Russia. The aims of the school are to train students and teachers for participation in the program “Wetland Keepers” and to create a network of volunteers to monitor the state of the most valuable springs, streams, rivers, lakes, bogs and leading to the rivers Western Dvina, Dnepr and its tributaries and to enhance the participation in environmental action.
The school is organized as follows: holding group lessons (theoretical and practical) in Geobotany, Forestry, Hydrobiology and Ornithology in the first half of the day, and the second half of the day will be free for the individual research. The camp program will be combined with other activities as the English language practice, psychological games, physical exercises, entertainment. The Scientific conference for school children will be held at the end of the Ecological School. Reports in Geobotany, Forestry, Hydrobiology and Ornithology will be presented. We invite you to communicate with the members of the school and to participate in the ecological education.
