Slimbridge - The WLI intern, Patricio Guerrero, went to one of the biggest fairs about birds in the world, the Bird Fair 2017 in the Natural Reserve of Rutland, Leicestershire (from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th). The fair had 8 thematic marquees in which a wide range of touristic, ornithologist and naturalist agencies, art and technology (cameras and audio-visual products) stands took place. Besides, there were plenty of events like talks and other events in which you could interact with scientists, authors, novelists and artists, amongst others.

This year, WWT participated in the event delivering the updates of the Back-tailed godwit (Limosa limosa) and Spoon billed sandpiper (Calidris pygmaea) projects. Both events gave the chance to interact with the team who led these projects.

Patricio Guerrero said: “I strongly recommend going to the Bird Fair, it’s a good attraction.”
