The WLI Internship has had an upgrade! In 2022, WWT has hired a paid, part-time, remote Assistant in the team that operates WLI. Welcome, the International CEPA Assistant, Ibrahim Hama!

About me

I know how important wetlands are, and how they can make people’s lives enjoyable, as I was born and grown in the Sahara Desert.

I am 43 years old, I’m from Niger and I live in Senegal where I did part of my university studies.

I worked for about 15 years in development projects in West African countries on sustainable agriculture, CC adaptation, equity and gender, land restoration, and communication for development before devoting myself to wetlands and biodiversity conservation for the last five years. For the last five years, I have been working on stakeholder engagement in West African coastal conservation, mainly with local communities, youth, schools, and the private sector.  For the past few years, I have been accompanying the MBP network in the production of educational materials for children and following the Binoculars for Africa initiative.

I am also a lecturer at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and the Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture at Cheikh Anta Diop University and at the School of Journalism and Communication of Dakar (Ejicom) where I teach environmental communication and stakeholder engagement.

Je suis chargé d’appuyer l’équipe engagement international pour la production de supports de formation, communication et sensibilisation et contribuer à élargir le réseau des partenaires internationaux du WWT.
