Information about nature in the “Lauwersmeer” National Park

Description of the centre

The national park cover around 5000 Ha, with sandbars and open water (fresh), reed marshes, grasslands; geese, ducks and waders, birds of prey (also White-tailed Eagle); situated in the north of the Netherlands adjacent to the Waddensea.

Excursions and lectures; education programme for children; contact with local stakeholders and regularly issue of special newsletter. We are running special courses for identification of birds. Another important issue is field-surveillance to prevent disturbance
