Location: Kutcharo-kohan, Hamatombetsu-cho, Esashi-gun, Hokkaido 098-5739 Japan

Size of site: 1,607 ha

Types of habitats and species supported:

Lake Kutcharo is a brackish lake. In their migration seasons, spring and autumn, about 6000 Bewick swans flock to Lake Kutcharo.
