Top three successes

1. Internationally significant wetland and birdwatching destination Liminganlahti is an internationally recognised and valuable coastal wetland, particularly important for migratory and breeding birds. The area attracts a large number of visitors interested in birdwatching, nature and outdoor activities and has a strong identity as a nature destination.
2. Strong environmental education and diverse learning environments Liminganlahti has a long history of environmental education and nature interpretation. The area includes a visitor centre, nature school, birdwatching sites and several learning environments focusing on wetlands, biodiversity and land uplift. These provide a strong foundation for education, visitor engagement and awareness-raising.
3. Active network of local organisations and community actors A diverse group of organisations, associations, businesses and public-sector actors are already involved in activities at Liminganlahti. Local actors have actively developed new learning environments, nature-based activities and services, creating a strong foundation for cooperation and further development of the area.
