Fundacion Kennedy update

In Zapallar, we ran a Photography Competition with the Municipality of Zapallar and the University of Valparaiso. The idea was that the children and adults could participate drawing and taking pictures of the beautiful wetlands located at Zapallar.  Also we did many wetlands classes at different schools in Santiago, teaching the children the importance of wetlands and what they can do to help. The importance of preserving the environment and what the Fundación Kennedy is doing to help. We are still looking for resources to start working on Laguna El Peral, a beautiful place where every year many birds from different parts of the world arrive to spend the summer.

Also we ran activities in the wetlands located in Algarrobo, working with the community, to help to clean and preserve the different places. In August we ran a Wetlands Course with Universidad Chileno Británica. The idea is to explain to the students the importance of the wetlands and their ecological services. The winning students are going to WWT's wetland centre at Slimbridge to learn and help with conservation activities there.
