Francisca and Josefa at Slimbridge

In September WWT (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Slimbridge, UK) hosted two Chilean volunteers, Francisca Bardi, environmental engineer, who works for a NGO called Fundación Kennedy and Josefa González, studying Translation at Universidad Chileno-Británico de cultura. They helped us updating and ensuring accurate translation for the Spanish version of the WLI website, updating details of the Neotropics WLI members and inviting new wetland centres to participate in this initiative. They also helped us updating the global database of wetland centers, initiative agreed in the COP12 in Uruguay.  They also learnt good practices for wetland conservation and management in Slimbridge.

Fundación Kennedy, Universidad Chileno-británico and the WWT have an agreement to translate the Spanish documents produced by the WWT, WLI.  This is the third year that this internship takes place.
