Looking for Bittern

Natur&ëmwelt – BirdLife Luxembourg and Biodiversum nature center led a public event looking for Bittern in the Ramsar area Haff Réimech near Schengen. At least two of these mysterious winter visitors are spending the winter months in the reedbeds of Luxembourg’s first Ramsar area. Some 20 people attended the excursion lead by Patric Lorgé.

Haff Réimech was designated as a Ramsar site in 1998 and can be visited year-round. The visitor center Biodiversum is the starting point for visitors.
